Year 7 Kilimanjaro Trip

Bags packed, sunscreen applied, year 7 students excitedly assembled at mount Kilimanjaro’s Marangu gate On day one, the route towards their destination – Horombo hut. Cut though lust rainforest. Despite false rumors of anaconda sightings, everyone emerged; weary yet unscathed at Mandara hut that evening. Day 2 tested many students and teachers! Physically and mentally, as altitude increased and chocolate supplies ran low. Happily, all SCIS climbers arrived at Horombo hut to marvel at breathtaking. Views of ice capped peak and Moshi town below. An early start on Day 3, marked the beginning of the group’s descent back to Marangu gate.& |
