Secondary Department
A
very busy year is almost over. Students and teachers are looking forward
with great anticipation to the long holiday before us. We wish to express
our gratitude to the staff, students and parents who have contributed to
life at SCIS during the year.
Some of
our teachers are leaving and we would like to appreciate their hardwork
while at SCIS and wish them all the best in their teaching careers in their
new postings.
This year has been full of
achievements and listing all them would be impossible, I am however happy to
note the great achievements in academics with excellent results at all
levels – IGCSE, AS Exams producing top students in 3 AS Subjects and IGCSE
Accounting top in the world candidate for 2009 examination sessions, and
Checkpoint all being good pointers to the dedication by all stake holders –
teachers, parents and above all else students who work so hard and
tirelessly.
Students’ lives were enriched in many ways other than academics: theatre,
variety show, language evening, debates, treasure hunt, water games, talent
hunt, art exhibition and science fair. This no doubt has revealed student
skills and talents previously hidden from the rest of us. The students took
part in numerous school
and class
trips; this has widened their horizon beyond the classroom, some of the
students and teachers conquered the highest peak in Africa, congratulations
to the Team – PAMOJA TUMEFIKA.
We have
continued to grow in sports and students excelled in many disciplines that
include Swimming, football, basketball, netball, volleyball and most
recently rugby where three of our students were selected to join the
national junior rugby team. Thanks to all the teams for your school spirit
and the PE Department for making all this success possible.
We would like to thank
the incredibly dedicated staff of SCIS, the most caring and supportive
parents, and, of course, the absolute best students in the world for a
fabulous year. Enjoy your holidays.
