Yr.9's on their way to the highest peak of Africa

This year’s trip saw a larger group of  36 students from year 9 and the Sixth form attempt to reach the roof of Africa.  With great enthusiasm and little effort they reached Kibo.  From there a sunrise battle began at 4,700m with only 8 students unable to complete the slog up a thousand metres to Gilman's.  After 5 hours the first group arrived, including super Gary the effortless climber!  Although the suffered extreme exhaustion Gilman's was not enough for 11 students who strove on to Uhuru and reached the ultimate goal!  By the end of the day all (including Vincent & Nazir) returned safely down the mountain tired and beaten but triumphant in the knowledge that they had risen to the challenge and proved ‘there's no mountain high enough’!
