Interschool Swimming Gala hosted by SCIS
St. Constantine’s International School hosted their annual Interschool Swimming Gala. Teams that participated to make such an enjoyable competition were : ISM Arusha, Agakhan Dar-es-Salaam, Arusha Modern and SCIS. The events freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and relay were all applauded and cheered by the crowd which was a good turnout for the gala. The winning team was ISM Arusha who exhibited an overall good team spirit and determination. Each of the schools had swimmers of individual merit in certain events. The age groups for the races ranged from under 10 years boys and girls to open age groups for boys and girls. The gala results in full are as follows: Ist Place ISM Arusha. 2nd Place St. Constantine’s International School. 3rd Place Agakhan Dar-es-Salaam. 4th Place Arusha Modern. The gala finished with a Teacher/Parents race which was very popular with the spectators. The cup was then awarded to the ISM Arusha team by Mr Gericke the Head of School at SCIS. All students that made 1st, 2nd or third place received certificates to acknowledge their accomplishment. Sports Master Mpenzu of SCIS said that the school would continue to promote sport for the youth of Tanzania.
