I like to look and
listen
I need to touch and try
I want to smell and sample
And ask the question why?
Give me time to wonder
To imagine and pretend
Space to run and bend and
stretch
Share secrets with a friend
I want to hold and handle
I must play to understand
For I need to know so many
things
To find out who I am
Planning
It is important to remember that
the curriculum is everything that the child experiences and not just the
programmed activities.
At St. Constantine's
International school we use the Cambridge International Primary Programme
which helps teachers develop skills and knowledge in young children.
Our objectives
Children need:
 |
To be able to read simple
texts accurately and with understanding
|
 |
To develop a love and
enthusiasm for language, books and reading.
|
 |
To be able to use interesting
and appropriate vocabulary to communicate meaning when writing
|
 |
To be encouraged to
communicate their ideas, feelings, experiences and need both
verbally and non-verbally
|
 |
To use their mathematical
skills to solve problems
|
 |
To begin to value the
similarities and differences of others
|
 |
To enter into the world of
imagination
|
 |
To develop ability to make
choices and decisions
|
 |
To have knowledge of a
range of computer technology resources

Parental involvement
Parental involvement is
valued at St. Constantine's International School. A close partnership
between parent and teacher can have a lasting effect on a
child’s achievement. We encourage parents to share their expertise,
in order to enhance the learning opportunities
with the school. Our teachers are always at hand to talk with
parents about any concerns and to share
information on children’s progress and achievement.
Parent Consultations
A time is set aside at
least four times a year for a more formal parent/teacher consultation. This
is an opportunity for parents to look through the work that has been
covered.
A report is compiled by the class teacher, at the end of each term,
informing parents of progress that has been made, and targets that will be
set for the coming term.
School Care
We offer an optional after
school care facility for the pupils of the Infant classes. This is
not always a formal teaching time but a time when the Infant equipment may
be utilised. Activities such as the use of the playroom, computer, painting
and swimming take place under teacher supervision. This service is provided
at an additional cost above the normal school fees. It takes place on
Mondays - Thursdays from 1:10 pm to 3:00 pm. Arrangements can be made for
lunch.
